Women's Tennis Dominates Penn State-Harrisburg
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Defiance College women's tennis team defeated Penn State-Harrisburg in dominate fashion on Monday afternoon at the Shipyard Racquet Club, winning 6-3.
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Defiance College women's tennis team defeated Penn State-Harrisburg in dominate fashion on Monday afternoon at the Shipyard Racquet Club, 6-3.
The Yellow Jackets (3-15 overall) were led by junior Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) winning one singles 6-2, 6-3. The Purple and Gold continued to dominate in singles action as freshman A.J. Breneman (Bryan) claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number two singles, followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win from junior Cayla Walker (Archbold) at number three singles. Junior Chelsey Braunwart (Trenton/Edgewood) rapped up singles action defeating Sheila Ansary at number six singles, 7-6, 6-4.
Defiance also dominated in doubles action as the duo of Hesterman and Walker took down one doubles 8-5. The two doubles team of Breneman and Huston also captured a victory taking down the Lions 8-3.
DC returns to action Wednesday, March 7 when they take on Shenandoah on day three of the Spring Tennis Fest.
