DC Places Three on All-HCAC Team
GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College women's tennis team had three athletes recognized when the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference teams were announced on Tuesday morning.
GREENWOOD, IND. -- The Defiance College women's tennis team had three athletes recognized when the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference teams were announced on Tuesday morning.
Junior Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) was named first team All-HCAC for the second straight season for her performance as top singles and doubles player for the Yellow Jackets. Hesterman finished the season with a 6-8 mark overall, but with a 4-3 record in HCAC play at first singles, including winning her final four matches of the year. At doubles, Hesterman and doubles partner Cayla Walker (Archbold) finished with a 6-8 mark and 3-4 in conference action.
Freshman A.J. Breneman (Bryan) earned honorable mention All-HCAC honors in her first campaign for the purple and gold. Breneman finished the season with a 4-7 record at second singles for DC.
Senior MacKenzie Combs (Milford Center/Fairbanks) was named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the 2017 season. Combs finished her career with a 1-11 mark at singles, while she had a 2-11 record in doubles play during her senior campaign.
