Hesterman and Heeter Earn All-HCAC Honors
GREENWOOD, IND. – Defiance College women's tennis players Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) and Colby Heeter (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) were recognized by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performances during the 2016 season.

Hesterman was named first-team All-HCAC for 2016. She is the first Yellow Jacket tennis player to earn First Team honors since the 2007 season, when Emily Meyer won those honors. Hesterman finished the season with a 3-8 mark in singles play, with two of those wins coming in HCAC play at first singles. Hesterman also finished the year with a 1-10 mark in first doubles play.
Senior Colby Heeter was also recognized by the HCAC, being named to the HCAC All-Sportsmanship team. Heeter finished with a 2-10 mark switching between third and fourth singles on the season. She also finished with a 1-11 record in doubles play.
Hanover (Ind.) College senior Mackenzie Spicer was named the HCAC Most Valuable Player, while Panther head coach Ryan Miller earned his third HCAC Coach of the Year honor as the Panthers won the conference regular-season title and finished as HCAC Tournament runners-up after their loss to the Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology in the final.
