HILTON, HEAD, S.C. – The Defiance College women's team suffered their first loss of the spring break trip against Roosevelt (Ill.) University by a final match score of 9-0.

The doubles teams worked their opponents to close 8-4 set decisions but gave all doubles decisions to Roosevelt (Ill.).

In singles play, The Lakers swept singles play to finalize the 9-0 score in favor of Roosevelt (Ill.). Senior Savannah Marquez (Porterville, Calif. /Porterville) had the closest singles match of the day, forcing a first-set tie break, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
