Women's Tennis Defeated by Franklin (Ind.)
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College women’s tennis team hosted Franklin (Ind.) College in its final home match of the season at the Dix Tennis Courts, but fell to the Grizzlies, 9-0, in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match.

In doubles play, the teams of Haley Kuhlman (Oregon/Clay) and Danielle Vance (Defiance) along with Nicole Tank (Lincoln Park, Mich./Roosevelt) and Colby Heeter (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) scored points in their respective matches for Defiance (4-11, 1-6 HCAC), but would fall in the overall matches by the scores of 8-1. Following the doubles matches, the Yellow Jackets trailed Franklin (12-1, 7-1 HCAC), 3-0.
Freshman Hannah Hesterman (Archbold) had the closest singles match for the Yellow Jackets battling her opponent in a competitive match, but would eventually fall short by the scores of 6-4, 6-4.
The Purple and Gold will wrap-up the 2015 season tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 11) when they travel to Hanover, Ind. for a HCAC match at 10 a.m. DC will also be taking on Berea (Ky.) College in its final action of the season.
