Yellow Jackets Defeated by the Quakers, 9-0
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College women’s tennis team hosted Earlham (Ind.) College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup and fell to the Quakers by a match score of 9-0.
DEFIANCE, OHIO – The Defiance College women's tennis team hosted Earlham (Ind.) College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup and fell to the Quakers by a match score of 9-0.
Defiance (0-6, 0-4 HCAC) won a total of 27 games for the afternoon, but would end up falling short to the Quakers (2-4, 1-3 HCAC).
"We had some very close matches today," said Head Coach Tyler Ault. "Haley Kuhlman (Oregon/Clay) and Bailey Marquez (Porterville, Calif./Porterville) came within two games of their opponent at the second double spot. The third doubles team of Colby Heeter (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) and Courtney Alexander (Bristolville/Bristol) were tied at one point for their match and there were also a few close singles matches."
The Purple & Gold will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for a tri-match against Oakland City (Ind.) University and HCAC rival, Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology Saturday, Sept. 27. First match is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
