Panthers Too Much For Yellow Jacket Women’s Tennis
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s tennis team traveled to Hanover, Ind. to face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Hanover College on Saturday morning.
HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College women's tennis team traveled to Hanover, Ind. to face Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Hanover College on Saturday morning. The team was unable to grab the road win and lost by a score of 8-1.
The Yellow Jackets fought hard in doubles action and came away with a victory in one of the two matches that were played. Juniors Kirsten Wieland and Catie Savage won in dominating fashion at the one singles position by a score of 8-3 for Defiance's lone point of the match.
DC was unable to record a win in singles play, as the Jackets dropped all five positions.
The Purple and Gold was forced to forfeit the three doubles and six singles positions, as the team was without junior Danielle LaBarbera for the day.
The Purple and Gold will wrap up its season on Wednesday with another HCAC matchup against Anderson University. The match is set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
