DC Women’s Tennis Drops Pair of Matches

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Lady Yellow Jackets suffered a pair of 9-0 defeats on Saturday. The tri-match with Rose-Hulman and Earlham marked the first home competition of the 2009 season for Defiance.

DC started the day with a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to Rose-Hulman in the 9:00 am match. The Engineers won all three doubles competitions by an 8-0 score and notched straight-set victories in all six singles matches.

The Jackets then rounded out the day with another tough defeat to Earlham. Jerika Hennes and Nicole Lovins lost, 8-2, at No. 1 singles in the closest action of the contest.

Defiance (0-4, 0-3 HCAC) will be back in action on Sunday, September 13, when it plays at Northwestern Ohio.
