Auzins Claims Singles Victory, Jackets Fall to Heidelberg

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Amanda Auzins claimed the lone victory for the Defiance College women's tennis team, as the Jackets fell to Heidelberg College, 8-1, on September 25. DC drops to 0-8 on the season with the loss.

Auzins won her third match of the season, defeating Mandy Hanning 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 in No. 1 singles action. The Jackets had several close doubles matches as Cindy Toth and Chelsea French lost 9-7 in No. 2 doubles, while the tandem of Auzins and Mandi Losby fell 8-6 in No. 1 doubles.

Defiance returns to action on Saturday, September 27, when it travels to Marion, Ind. for an 11:00 a.m. match with Indiana Wesleyan.
