Women's Soccer Hosts Muskingum to Celebrate 25th Anniversary Team
DEFIANCE, OHIO- The Defiance College women's soccer team played host to Muskingum University on Saturday afternoon. During halftime of the contest, the 25th Anniversary Team was recognized for their accomplishments and contributions of the DC women's soccer program.

DEFIANCE, OHIO- The Defiance College women's soccer team played host to Muskingum University on Saturday afternoon. During halftime of the contest, the 25th Anniversary Team was recognized for their accomplishments and contributions of the DC women's soccer program.
The Muskies jumped out to an early lead scoring, eleven minutes into the half. Defensively, the Purple and Gold did well to hold a tight line against the visitors, drawing seven offsides calls throughout today's game. Yellow Jacket goalie Madi Bowman (Eaton, Ohio/ Eaton) controlled the net for all 90 minutes tallying fifteen saves.
Offensively, senior, Blake Newman (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) created opportunities for the Yellow Jackets to score in the second half but was stopped by the Muskingum defense.
Late in the game, the Muskies were able to tack on two insurance goals securing the 3-0 win over the Yellow Jackets.
The loss brings the women's record to 3-4-1 on the season. The Purple and Gold will be back in action at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field on Wednesday, September 25th as they take on Andrews University for a second time. Kickoff is slated for 5:00 pm.
