Women's Soccer Lands Trio on All-HCAC Lists
RICHMOND, IND. - The Defiance College women's soccer team landed three names upon the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference lists on Tuesday afternoon.
RICHMOND, IND. - The Defiance College women's soccer team landed three names upon the All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference lists on Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Whitney Webb (Troy / Troy) and junior Blake Newman (Jackson, Mich. / Lumen Christi) secured All-HCAC Honorable Meniton Honors, while junior Malia Ferry (Milford / Milford) was named to the Christopher M. Ragsdale All-Sportsmanship Team.
Webb grabs her first All-HCAC accolade after playing in 15 games for the Purple and Gold, starting 14 of which. The Troy, Ohio native slotted home a career high five goals during the season, including a double overtime game winner. Webb also tallied two assists during the campaign.
Newman earned her first All-HCAC honor after playing in 17 games and starting 16 for the Yellow Jackets. The junior netted three goals, including one game winner. The Jackson, Mich. native also added one assist to her name during the 2018 campaign.
Ferry landed on the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team for her efforts during the season. The Milford, Ohio native started all 17 games for the Purple and Gold during the 2018 season.
Defiance concluded the 2018 season with a 2-15 overall mark and a 2-7 HCAC record under the guidance of Head Coach Jenny Vincent.
