DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's soccer team dropped their eighth straight contest this afternoon as they fell 2-0 to Transylvania University at the Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field in Defiance, Ohio.
Defiance was limited in their opportunities to score in the first half, tallying just two shots while the Pioneers managed nine of their own. Madi Bowman was busy in net for the Jackets, making three saves in the first period to keep the score 0-0 going into the half.
Transylvania opened up the scoring in the second half, netting their first goal in the 50th minute followed by an insurance goal two minutes later, giving them a 2-0 lead. DC continued to struggle, having difficulty penetrating the Pioneer defense to finish with five shots in period two in the 2-0 loss.
Whitney Webb and Kassie Memmer paced Defiance with two shots apiece while Bowman accumulated six saves while in net.
The Yellow Jackets continue their schedule on Wednesday, October 11 as they host Earlham College. Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM.
