DEFIANCE, OHIO- The Defiance College women's soccer team was beaten by Anderson (Ind.) University, 6-0, in their final home game of the season at the Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field.

Junior Kassie Memmer (Bowling Green) took the only shot for the Yellow Jackets (2-12, 2-6 HCAC) in the first half which came just 49 seconds into play. Her shot was saved by the Anderson goalkeeper. 

The Ravens (8-4-3, 4-3-1 HCAC) scored their first goal of the game during the 17th minute to go ahead on the scoreboard, 1-0. The Ravens struck again later in the period with their second and third goals of the period that came just under a minute-and-a-half apart at the 34:00 and 35:20 minute marks. The two scores were the final ones of the half as Anderson took a 3-0 advantage into the break. 

The Ravens started off the second half quickly, when they added their fourth goal of the game during the 53rd minute to increase the margin to 4-0. The Ravens tacked on their final goals at the 61:52 and 79:06 marks to round out the scoring en route to the 6-0 final. 

Freshman Madi Bowman (Eaton) played the entire match in net for the Jackets. She allowed six goals against and had nine saves. 

The Yellow Jackets will wrap up their season in Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 29 as they take on Mount St. Joseph University. The game will be part of a doubleheader with the men's team. The women will begin their game at 6 p.m. and the men will follow at 8:30 p.m.
