Coble's selection marks her second time in as many years to receive the honor, and her second-consecutive season to eclipse the 100-save mark. Coble's 125 saves were tops in the conference, while her .817 save percentage ranked fourth among all goalkeepers with at least 17 starts. The Cloverdale, Ohio native has recorded 34-straight starts since 2009, while racking up 268 saves, nine wins and five shutouts during that span.
Smith got the nod in her first season out of Parma High School, after starting in each of DC's 17 games at her forward position. After going scoreless over the first six games of the season, Smith finished strong with four goals and two assists over the last 11 games, including three game-winning goals. Smith ended the season with the second-highest goals total (4) and points total (10) on the team, and her three game-winners tied for sixth in the HCAC.
Coble and Smith led the Lady Jackets to a seventh-place finish in the HCAC with a 2-5-2 record in the conference and a 4-9-4 overall record. Coble concludes her career at DC with 276 saves and two all-conference selections, while Smith is just beginning a promising career on the pitch for the Yellow Jackets. Coble, who will graduate from DC in May with a degree in mathematics, will spend her spring as an assistant coach with the Defiance College softball team.
