Offensive Struggles Continue in 1-0 Loss at Hanover
HANOVER, Ind. – The women’s soccer team was tagged with its first conference loss of the season on Saturday, as the fell, 1-0, to Hanover College (6-4-1, 2-0 HCAC).

HANOVER, Ind. – The women's soccer team was tagged with its first conference loss of the season on Saturday, as the fell, 1-0, to Hanover College (6-4-1, 2-0 HCAC). DC was unable to score against the HCAC's stingiest defense, which entered the game with a conference-best .80 goals against average.
Despite taking only seven shots for the second game in a row, the Yellow Jackets were accurate with the ball, placing all seven of their shots on goal. Hanover goalkeeper, Jayme Carney, recorded a save on each of the shot attempts however, as Defiance went scoreless for the second time in as many games.
Alexandra Johnson and Cherilyn Borkholder led Defiance with two shots apiece in the game, while Karly Smith, Melissa Alston and Janelle Doenges rounded out the shooting with one shot each. Kelly Coble tallied nine saves in the game, and is currently leading all goalkeepers in the HCAC with a .863 save percentage this season.
The Lady Jackets, now 2-5-2 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC, will play at Marygrove College (3-5) on Tuesday, October 5, in what will be their final non-conference match of the season.
