CINCINNATI, Ohio - The women's soccer team was defeated 4-0 by HCAC leading Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, dropping them to 3-8 on the season and 0-3 in conference play.
The Jackets went into halftime down 1-0, but were worn out in the second half by the Lions offense who out-shot Defiance 32-6 in the match. The DC defense was unable to contain MSJ forward Andrea Caldwell, who recorded three goals on eight shots to lead the Lions.
Kelly Coble played strong, recording 11 saves to give the junior goalkeeper 100 saves on the season. Melissa Alston led the Jackets offensively, recording two shots in the game.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Tuesday, October 13, when they travel to Bluffton, Ohio for another HCAC match against Bluffton University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
