DEFIANCE, Ohio – Penalties derailed a Defiance comeback against Rose-Hulman on Saturday, dropping the Yellow Jackets to 3-7 on the season and 0-2 in the HCAC. Rose-Hulman improves to 2-7 with the victory.
The game went into halftime tied at 0-0, but Rose-Hulman came out aggressively in the second half, scoring three quick goals - each off an assist from Annmarie Stanley. Alexandra Johnson recorded a goal with three minutes remaining and Lauren Ranalli scored two minutes later to bring the Jackets within one. The Yellow Jackets also had two near-goals late in the game negated by off-sides penalties.
The women's soccer team will return to action on Saturday, October 10, when they play an HCAC competition on the road at Mount St. Joseph.
