LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Defiance women's soccer team fell to 0-1 in HCAC play on Saturday, as they dropped a 3-0 decision to Transylvania University. The Jackets are now 3-5 on the season.
The game was held scoreless until the 42nd minute when Transylvania's Ashley Cobane found the net to give the Pioneers a one point advantage going in to halftime. DC goalkeeper Kelly Coble played well, keeping the game close despite Transylvania out-shooting the Jackets 27-3. The Pioneers found the net twice more late in the game to secure the victory and improve to 2-0 in HCAC competition.
Defiance will be back in action on Wednesday, September 30, for a match against Heidelberg University. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
