Yellow Jackets Drop Season Opener to Ohio Northern

ADA, Ohio – The Yellow Jackets’ women’s soccer team dropped its first game of the 2009 campaign, falling to Ohio Northern University 7-0 on Tuesday, September 1.

ADA, Ohio – The Yellow Jackets' women's soccer team dropped its first game of the 2009 campaign, falling to Ohio Northern University 7-0 on Tuesday, September 1. 

DC had trouble containing ONU's senior forwards Angie Pisut and Jamie Eiben who both recorded two goals and two assists in the game. ONU's Kim McGowan, Madeline White and Alicia Palivoda also scored one goal each for the Polar Bears who out-shot the Yellow Jackets 46-3 in the match. DC goalkeeper, Kelly Cobble, put forward an outstanding effort recording 18 saves in the game.

Defiance returns to action on Friday, September 4, when it hosts Finlandia University at 5:00 pm to kick off the annual DC Classic on the varsity soccer field at Defiance High School.
