ADRIAN, Mich. – The Defiance College women's soccer team lost to Adrian College, 1-0, on Tuesday, October 21. The Jackets, who have lost their last three matches by a combined three goals, fall to 5-9-1 overall with the defeat.
The two teams battled for a scoreless 45 minutes in the opening period, as freshman keeper Colleen Cross' three saves helped keep the Bulldog attack at bay. Adrian, who outshot DC 17-2 in the match, ruined Cross' bid for her fourth shutout of the season, as Sarah Evans scored the game-winner in the 76th minute of the match.
Alexandra Johnson and Lauren Ranalli led Defiance with one shot apiece. Cross finished the match with seven saves, pushing her season total to 113.
The Jackets return to action on Saturday, October 25, when they host Mount St. Joseph for a 12:00 p.m. match. DC will look to snap a four-match losing streak with a senior day victory over the HCAC-leading Lions.
