Women's Soccer Suffers First HCAC Defeat

HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College women's soccer team yielded a trio of second half goals at Hanover on Saturday and fell, 3-0, to the Lady Panthers. The loss was the first of the season for DC in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes of play, but Hanover's Stephanie Tribbett broke open the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal 9:29 into the second period.
Hanover would push the spread to 2-0 at the 77:28 mark when Kristen Lebrun assisted Lindsey Jump for the insurance tally. The Panthers then put the match out of reach with an Olivia Selm goal with under seven minutes remaining on the clock.
Defiance falls to 5-6-1 overall and 2-1 in HCAC play with the loss. DC will look to get back on track when it hosts Bluffton on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
