Wrestling drops road dual to OWU

The Defiance wrestling team suffered a 31-16 loss to Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday night, dropping their dual record to 5-8 on the season.

Results

• Sophomore Sean Rankin was pinned by Tyler Bodovetz in 2:54 at 174.
• At 184 junior Jack Minner lost a major decision to Abe Spurlock 19-6.
• Senior Mason Morris lost a close 6-5 decision to Marquel Henry at 197.
• Senior Rigo Villa pinned Haji Sidibe in 1:46 at heavyweight 
• Donovan Ortiz took a forfeit at 125 to give six more points to OWU.
• Junior Seth Majewski won a 14-1 major decision over Ryan McElwee at 133.
• Senior Alex Smith pinned Max Beard in 1:38 at 141.
• Senior Cortez Bradley dropped a 10-0 major decision to Bryce Wittman at 149.
• Freshman Matthew Beard was defeated by tech fall by Caleb Blake 15-0 at 157.
• Junior Keringten Martin had a heartbreaking 10-8 loss to Jaret Lowry in a match that went to sudden victory overtime.
