Boroff places fourth at Terrier Invitational
CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio - Defiance College women's golf turned in a solid showing at Sunday's Terrier Invitational at Tanglewood Golf Course with a third-place team finish and junior Winter Boroff (Convoy, Ohio/Lincolnview) finished just five shots off the lead.
Boroff carded an 81 and a fourth-place finish. She rallied on the back nine as one of four golfers to break 40 on the way in while making par on seven of the last 11 holes.
Isabelle Vance (Continental, Ohio/Miller City) shot 88 by shaking off a 47 through the front nine with a 41 after the turn. Cassi Van Dyke (Marysville, Ohio/Marysville) fired a round of 91 after taking a 9 on two of the toughest holes on the back nine. Emily Momany (Toledo, Ohio/Emmanuel Christian) finished at 113 and sank a birdie on the par 4 14th.
As a team, the Yellow Jackets compiled for a round of 373.
Among the other four teams competing were Mount Union, John Carroll, Allegheny and Hiram. The Purple Raiders were the team champions with a scorecard of 323 as their top four golfers all placed in the top six. Mount Union's Emma Packard shot a 76 for medalist honors, which was four shots clear of second place.
The Yellow Jackets travel to Anderson next weekend for the Raven Invitational hosted by Anderson on Saturday and Sunday.
