Junior Mari Najar was the top finisher for the Defiance women's golf team at the Yellow Jackets Military Appreacaption Invitational on Tuesday. Najar finished tied for 12th after shooting a 92.

Junior Mari Najar was the top finisher for the Defiance women's golf team at the Yellow Jackets Military Appreciation Invitational on Tuesday. Najar finished tied for 12th after shooting a 92. 

The Basics

  • The event was hosted by DC at the Eagle Rock Golf Golf Club in Defiance, Ohio.
  • The Yellow Jackets placed fifth out of five teams with a score of 415.
  • Siena Heights took first place with a team score of 341.

On The Course

  • Najar led the Yellow Jackets with a score of 92.
  • Junior Julia Yeager shot a 97 to tie for 23rd.
  • Senior Shelby Mercer also shot a 97.
  • Freshman Winter Boroff placed 30th with a 106.
  • Freshman Aubrey Bujalski placed 33rd after recording a 120.
  • Rounding out the competition for the Yellow Jackets was sophomore Taylor Greilich who shot a 124.

  • The next competition for the Yellow Jackets will be the HCAC Preview on Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12. The event will be held on the grounds of The Legends Golf Club in Franklin, Ind.
