Women’s golf matches Friday’s score during second round of HCAC Championship

After posting 407 on Friday, Defiance recorded the same number during the second 18 holes for a 36-hole total of 814 (eighth place of nine teams). The Yellow Jackets edged Earlham College by one stroke on Saturday. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology stands in first place with 329-322—651, which is well ahead of Transylvania University (353-349—702).
DC is being led by Mari Najar, who ended at 96 on Saturday, finishing with a birdie. After an opening 94, Najar has a 190 total (tied for 22nd place among 48 participants). Shelby Mercer is not far behind with 96-97—193 (27th).
On Sunday at 9 a.m., the final round of the event is slated to get underway.
