Defiance Women's Golf falls to Mount St. Joseph in dual match
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets women's golf team hit the links for the second day in a row Sunday morning, hosting Mount St. Joseph in a dual match at the Eagle Rock Golf Club.
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets women's golf team hit the links for the second day in a row Sunday morning, hosting Mount St. Joseph in a dual match at the Eagle Rock Golf Club. The Yellow Jackets (447) fell to Mount St. Joseph (360).
Both schools competed Saturday at the Manchester University Invitational and played another 18 holes Sunday on the par-71 golf course.
Sarah Westfall led the way for the Yellow Jackets. The number one for DC all season thus far put together a 46 on the front nine, but struggled on a few holes in the second half of the round to finish the back nine with a 57 for a final score of 103.
Mallory Galloway continued her consistent play in her round Sunday. The freshman shot a 54 going out with a 51 coming in for a final score of 105. Galloway's 51 led the Yellow Jackets on the back nine for the round.
Junior Kayla Uscilowski put together matching nine-hole scores of 56 for a final round total of 112 on the course. Sophomore Nicole Baseley rounded out the scoring for DC on the day, shooting a 127.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action next week, playing in the Cleary Invitational on Friday, Sept. 27, before returning to Eagle Rock for the Defiance Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 29.
