Defiance Wraps Up Play at Hanover Invitational

HANOVER, Ind. – The Defiance College women's golf program continued its fall campaign on Sunday, by completing the two-day Hanover Invitational. The Jackets improved by seven strokes over Saturday's final to finish in eighth place with a final team score of 763.

Tara Miller and Sarah Westfall each ended with a 36-hole score of 189, with Kelly Beard posting a 10-shot improvement on the second day to finish with a 190.

The team and individual championships were won by Indiana Tech, which was paced by medalist Megan Garrison's two-day total of 148. Tech carded a 655 as a squad to edge out Marian (668) and Hanover (668) in the team standings.

Defiance will be back in action on Tuesday, September 11, when it plays in the Jon Spiess Memorial in Wauseon, Ohio. Action is set to begin at 10:30 am at Ironwood Golf Course.
