Three student-athletes take part in NCAA Career in Sports Forum
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College’s Erin Breece (Hamler, Ohio/Patrick Henry), Briawna Francis (Indianapolis, Ind./Avon) and Chelsey Strawser (Lewisburg, Ohio/Tri-County North) were three of more than 300 NCAA student-athletes from across the country who had the opportunity to get career guidance and network with athletics administrators and sports industry experts virtually from May 26-28 at the 2021 NCAA Career in Sports Forum.

Women's basketball concludes the season with a loss at Anderson
ANDERSON, Ind.- The Defiance College women's basketball team traveled to Anderson University for the first round of the 2021 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament. The season comes to an end for the Yellow Jackets with a 60-41 loss at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

Basketball teams preparing for HCAC Championships
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Both the women’s and men’s basketball teams at Defiance College have completed their 2020-21 regular seasons and are now preparing to compete in their respective Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Opening-round tournament play begins this weekend at various campus sites.

Women's basketball hosts Mount St. Joseph on senior day
DEFIANCE, Ohio- On Saturday afternoon in the Karl H. Weaner Center, the Yellow Jacket women's basketball team hosted Mount St. Joseph University. The Purple and Gold fell short in the rematch by a score of 75-68. After the game, Defiance honored their one senior, Kalyn Pickens, for her accomplishments over her career as a Yellow Jacket.

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Defiance College women's basketball team traveled to Bluffton University to take on the Beavers Saturday afternoon. The weekend matchup saw a strong Bluffton side top the Purple and Gold 75-54.

Women's basketball opens season with loss to Bluffton
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College women's basketball team opened the 2020-21 season with an 80-67 loss to Bluffton University. The game was the first intercollegiate athletic event for Defiance College since March 13 when the baseball and softball teams competed in Florida. It was also the first event hosted by Defiance since Feb. 15, 2020, when both basketball teams hosted Rose-Hulman.

No spectators allowed at athletic events until at least mid-February
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Due to rising health concerns related to the spread of the coronavirus, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Council of Presidents and Defiance College have decided to not allow spectators at any athletic events until at least Feb. 15, 2021. The HCAC, which Defiance has been a member of since 2000, will reevaluate this policy next month.

CARMEL, Ind. – The 2020-21 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, composed of a vote of the conference's head coaches, was released by the HCAC office on Tuesday morning. The Defiance College women's basketball team is picked to finish sixth among the 10 HCAC squads.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The 2020-21 season opener for the Defiance College women’s basketball team, scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m., has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns. Defiance was slated to host a non-conference game against Adrian College inside the Karl H. Weaner Community Center.
