Tietje, Ervin, and Smay Earn HCAC Postseason Honors

Junior Kelsey Tietje (Deshler/ Patrick Henry) was selected first-team All-HCAC. Freshman Sam Ervin (Bloomdale/Elmwood) was named to the All-Freshman Team, while junior Erica Smay (Defiance/Tinora) earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
This is the third year in a row that Tietje has been tabbed first-team All-HCAC. She finished the 2015-16 season with 512 points (19.7 avg.) and 322 rebounds (12.4 avg.). Tietje led the HCAC in six different statistical categories including points per game (19.7), points (512), free-throws (143-179), rebounds per game (12.4), total rebounds (322) and blocks (60).
Ervin had a standout rookie season as a Yellow Jacket. She ended the season second on the team in points (236), rebounds (132) and blocks (15). Ervin scored in double-digit figures on 11 occasions, including a season and career-high 20 points in the game against Manchester (Ind.) University (Feb. 17).
Smay returns to the All-Sportsmanship Team list after being named to the team the past two years. She started in all 26 games and finished fourth on the team in points with 174 (56-of-180 shooting). Smay grabbed 78 boards and dished out 42 assists. Smay also made the second-most three-pointers on the team with 37 for the season.
