Tietje Named CoSIDA Third-Team Academic All-American

Tietje currently holds a 3.72 GPA as a business administration major. She had a standout junior season in 2015-16 leading the team, and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, in scoring at 19.7 points per game, rebounding with 12.4 boards per game and blocked shots with 60. Tietje is the only player in the HCAC to average a double-double. She also ranked as the team leader in field goal percentage (51.8 percent) and free-throw percentage (79.9 percent). Her 51.8 shooting percentage (183-of-353) was third highest in the conference and her 79.9 free-throw percentage was sixth best.
Tietje scored 512 points in 2015-16 which was the second highest total in a single-season in program history and just the fourth time someone has scored 500 points or more dating back to the 1984-85 season. She totaled 17 double-doubles and equaled her career single-game high of 37 points on two occasions. She scored in double-figures in all but three games, including 12 games of 20 points or more, and scored 20-plus points in nine of her last 11 contests to end the season. Tietje has also grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 18 games.
For her career, Tietje surpassed the 1,000-point scoring plateau this past winter and now has 1,400 total points to rank sixth all-time in program history. She edges closer to the 1,000-rebound mark as well with 898 boards and is third all-time in that category. In addition, Tietje has 151 career blocks which is second most all-time and trails the all-time mark by 36. After three seasons, she has a 50.3 lifetime shooting percentage (477-of-948) and a 76.3 percentage from the free-throw line (442-of-579).
