17 DC Student-Athletes Honored on HCAC Academic Team
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its winter honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team, with Defiance placing 17 student-athletes on the list. The 17 award-winning athletes rank DC second in the conference.

In order to be named an Academic All-HCAC selection, a student-athlete must have completed one full academic year, be enrolled full-time at their institution, be a varsity athlete and possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 at the end of the semester preceding the conclusion of the fall season.
Defiance saw seven women's basketball players, seven women's track and field athletes, and two members of the men's basketball team earn recognition among the 17 Yellow Jackets to make the list. The Yellow Jacket women's basketball and track and field teams led the HCAC among each of their respective sports for most athletes garnering the honor.
DC's standout student-athletes from the fall included Kim Bingley, Ashley Birchmeier, Kate Borer, Kelsey Bowling, Marissa Bussard, Rachel Ciminillo, Kim Comden, Stephanie Diemer, Megan Fields, Mollee Galloway, Kali George, Adam Grillot, Hannah Harshman, Katie Heitkamp, Erica King, Travis Schomaeker, and Kent Tietje.
