Comden Named Women's Basketball HCAC Player of the Week

The Defiance native recorded a career-high 22 points on 10-19 shooting to carry the Jackets in the win over Rose-Hulman. During one stretch of play in the second half, Comden scored 12-straight points for the Purple and Gold. To go along with the career-best mark in points, the center added four rebounds and recorded season highs in assists with four, blocks with three and steals with two.
Earlier in the week in the win over Alma, Comden recorded 17 points on 7-12 shooting, including 1-1 behind the arc, and added eight boards, two assists and two blocks.
For the week, the Ayersville High product averaged 19.5 points while recording a field goal percentage of 54.8%, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals per game, all while turning the ball over only one time.
Comden and the Yellow Jackets are now 1-0 in HCAC play and 2-3 on the season. Defiance is back in action on Wednesday, December 5, as the Jackets host Anderson in a conference clash. The game is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
