Jackets Support Former DC Standout Pam Borton
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Members of the Defiance College women's basketball team traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich. last month to see 2007 DC Hall-of-Fame inductee Pam Borton guide her Golden Gophers squad to a Big 10 victory over the University of Michigan.
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Members of the Defiance College women's basketball team traveled to Ann Arbor, Mich. last month to see 2007 DC Hall-of-Fame inductee Pam Borton guide her Golden Gophers squad to a Big 10 victory over the University of Michigan.
Borton starred at Defiance from 1983 to 1987, racking up 1,408 points and 710 rebounds during her four seasons with the Jackets. The Fayette, Ohio native was a three-time all-conference and all-district selection, while earning NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in each of her final two campaigns at DC.
The Minnesota mentor is in her seventh season as head coach of the Golden Gophers, having amassed over 150 victories during her tenure. Borton was named the 2004 New England Basketball Hall of Fame National Coach of the Year, after leading Minnesota to its first ever Final Four appearance. She has led the Golden Gophers to six-straight 20-win seasons, while helping two players become top-five selections in the WNBA draft.
