Hubble, Silcox, and Roberts earn NFCA Division III All-Region honors
The Defiance softball team earns three NFCA Division III All-Region selections as senior Kalin Hubble was named First Team All-Region, sophomore Brooke Silcox Second Team All-Region, and junior Marissa Roberts Third Team All-Region after outstanding 2022 seasons.
The Defiance softball team earns three NFCA Division III All-Region selections as senior Kalin Hubble was named First Team All-Region, sophomore Brooke Silcox Second Team All-Region, and junior Marissa Roberts Third Team All-Region after outstanding 2022 seasons.
Hubble received her second career All-Region selection as she was named Second Team in 2021. This season she led the Yellow Jackets in homeruns (8), RBIs (37), batting average (.472), on base percentage (.493), and slugging percentage (.816). With those stats, she led the HCAC in homeruns, on base percentage, and slugging percentage while also being top five in every major hitting category. Hubble was recently named First Team All-HCAC for the third time in her career.
She ends her illustrious Defiance softball career as the all-time leader in homeruns (29), doubles (44), runs (121), and RBIs (124). She also finishes second all-time in career hits with 176.
Silcox earns her first All-Region honor after having career-bests in hits (53), doubles (20), RBIs (25), batting average (.438), and slugging percentage (.669). She finished top ten in almost every hitting category in the HCAC and was tied for fourth in all NCAA Division III softball in doubles with 20. She was also recently named Second Team All-HCAC.
Roberts received her first career All-Region selection after recording a career-high and school record in hits (60) and doubles (21). She also had career-highs in triples (2), homeruns (3), RBIs (20), batting average (.438), and slugging percentage (.692). She finished the 2022 campaign top ten in almost major hitting category in the conference and was second in the nation with her 21 doubles. She was recently named to her second All-HCAC team as she received Second Team honors.
