Hubble Headlines All-HCAC Selections
RICHMOND, IND. - Freshman Kalin Hubble (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) headlines the 2019 All-HCAC selections for Defiance College Softball. Hubble was named First Team All-HCAC as well as Freshman of the Year, announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
RICHMOND, IND. - Freshman Kalin Hubble (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) headlines the 2019 All-HCAC selections for Defiance College Softball. Hubble was named First Team All-HCAC as well as Freshman of the Year, announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Hubble made a major impact in her first season at Defiance. The Anderson, Ind. native tallied a team-high 44 hits, led the way with 30 RBI, and scored a team-best 37 runs. The freshman capped her stellar campaign by setting a new single season home run record for Defiance Softball while leading the HCAC with 10 homers.
Defiance's recognition did not stop with the freshman as Jackie Hartman (Parma/Padua Franciscan), Brooke Gostomsky (Dayton/Covington), and Jordan Osborne (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) each landed upon the Second Team All-HCAC.
Hartman wraps up her career as an integral part of the Yellow Jacket program with her second All-HCAC honor. The senior featured in all 39 games for the Purple and Gold while tallying 36 hits and 23 RBI.
Gostomsky pulls in her second All-Conference honor of her career with the Second Team recognition. The junior played in all 39 games for DC. She knocked in 39 hits and 23 RBI in route to her .312 batting average.
Osborne, no stranger to the All-HCAC charts, brings home her fourth accolade of her career. The senior tallied 38 hits and 14 RBI over the 39 game stretch. The Delaware, Ohio native tallied a team-high nine stolen bases during her senior outing.
Senior Michaela Bauer (Hicksville) found her name on the HCAC Honorable Mention lists for her efforts during the season. Bauer featured in all 39 games for the Purple and Gold while registering 43 hits and 27 RBI.
Ely King (Mechanicsburg/Northeastern) wrapped up the Defiance accolades for 2019. The senior landed a spot on the Christopher M. Ragsdale Sportsmanship Team. King played a role in 24 games over the course of the season, scoring nine runs for the Purple and Gold.
Defiance Softball concluded the 2019 season 21-18 overall and 9-7 in the HCAC under the direction of Head Coach Megan Warren. The Yellow Jackets returned to the HCAC Tournament, bowing out in the second round of action.
