Softball Announces Fall Camp Dates
DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College softball team will host two camps in the fall beginning with its fall prospect camp on September 23, followed by the hitting school on October 7, 14, and 21st.
DEFIANCE, OHIO - The Defiance College softball team will host two camps in the fall beginning with its fall prospect camp on September 23, followed by the hitting school on October 7th, 14th, and 21st.
The fall prospect camp is open to players who will be graduating high school in 2019, 2020, or 2021 and have the desire to play college softball. The cost is $70 (pre-registration by Sept. 12th) or $85 for walk-up or registration after Sept. 12th.
The camp is designed to allow players to develop their skills with the help of the DC coaching staff and players. The camp will be run similar to one of the Defiance College practices and campers will be instructed in all aspects of the game including hitting, fielding, pitching, and base running.
The Yellow Jacket softball team will also be hosting a hitting school open to grades kindergarten through 12th grade. The cost is $100 for all three sessions or $40 for each individual session and the session will be limited to 25 hitters only.

The camp will focus on DC Softball's Hitter's Six which is stride/separate/load, be on time, stay on plane, bat speed, we bunt, and mental approach. The camp will be instructed by the DC coaching staff and players.
The Purple and Gold finished the 2018 season 23-14 overall and ranked among the top in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in offensive production. The Yellow Jackets finished second in the HCAC with a .337 batting average led by freshman all-conference honoree Emma Perry. As a team, Defiance tallied 173 RBI, 340 hits, 188 runs, 14 home runs and a .457 slugging percentage.
