Freshman Emma Perry Named HCAC Hitter of the Week

GREENWOOD, IND. - Freshman Emma Perry (Bowling Green/Otsego) was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week announced Tuesday following her impressive debut at the Sunkissed Games in Kissimmee, Fla. 

Perry started all 10 games for the Yellow Jackets recording a team and conference-best .583 batting average. The freshman made 36 plate appearances tallying 21 hits, three doubles, six runs, and 13 RBI for a .667 slugging percentage. 

The honor is the first of the season for Perry.

Defiance returns to action Friday, March 16 as they travel to Kalamazoo for a double header beginning at 3:30 p.m.
