Osborne and Haydett Earn HCAC Accolades
GREENWOOD, IND. – Defiance College softball players Jordan Osborne (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) and Katie Haydett (St. Clair Shores, Mich. /Lakeview) were recognized by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performances on the field in the 2016 season.

Osborne was named to the honorable mention All-HCAC team. She had a standout freshman season as she started all 38 games as an outfielder. Osborne finished the season with a .336 batting average (38-of-113). Her 38 hits ranked second on the team, while her at bats (113) were tied for first on the team. She also led the team in walks (21), stolen bases (six) and runs scored (29).
Haydett was placed on the All-Sportsmanship team. She played in 15 games with one start. She scored three runs her senior year and recorded two putouts for a .667 fielding percentage. For her career, Haydett was a valuable leader on and off the field. In 66 career games, she started 13. She had a batting average of .148 (four-of-27) and had three walks. Haydett was an asset in running the bases as she scored 22 runs and went one-for-one on stolen bases and attempts. She worked to gain 18 career putouts and one total assist.
