DC Raises Number of Academic All-HCAC Nods to 38
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its spring honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC Team on Tuesday, with Defiance placing 11 student-athletes on the list to bring its 2010-2011 total up to 38.

In order to be named an Academic All-HCAC selection, a student-athlete must have completed one full academic year, be enrolled full-time at their institution, be a varsity athlete and possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at the end of the semester preceding the conclusion of the spring season.
Defiance's group of 11 student-athletes to garner the honor included a league-leading four student-athletes from the softball team. DC's standout student-athletes included Lisa Brophy, Elizabeth Petrie, Aubrie Ridinger and Kelly Schnipke of softball, Bryn Lehman, Todd Odell and Alex Schomaeker of baseball and Matt Rohlf, Katie Heitkamp, Ellen Stryffeler and Courtney Swabb of outdoor track and field.
