Men's Cross Country Opens the 2018 Season at Manchester
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. - The Defiance College men's cross country team opened the 2018 season on Friday afternoon as they competed at the Hokum Karem Invitational hosted by Manchester University.
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. - The Defiance College men's cross country team opened the 2018 season on Friday afternoon as they competed at the Hokum Karem Invitational hosted by Manchester University.
The meet was ran in a relay style format with team members completing a series of four, 1-mile runs for a combined 8-mile time.
THe Purple and Gold finished fifth overall in the five team field.
Defiance was led on the day by the duo of freshman Cameron Reed and freshman Karem Hassan who claimed at 17th place finish in the 22 team field. The team combined for a total time of 47:12.1.
Senior Daren Gies and sophomore Tyler Hines finished 19th overall with a time of 49:06.1, while senior Brandon Zartman and freshman Skyler JoHangten rounded out the scoring with a 21st place finish and a total time of 51:46.8.
Huntington University one the meet with a combined time of 41:29.1.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Friday, Sept. 14 as they compete at Penn State Behrend with the race beginning at 6:00 pm.
