Rindler Leads Jackets at HCAC

Defiance came home with 301 points, finishing 19 points behind Mount St. Joseph University.
Manchester (Ind.) and Rose-Hulman (Ind.) finished in a tie for the top spot with 59 points, but Manchester won the tiebreaker to claim the conference title. Hanover (Ind.) placed third with 68 points, with Bluffton and Anderson (Ind.) rounding out the top five.
The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Jacob Rindler (St. Henry), who finished in the 58th position with a time of 30:57.58 in the eight-kilometer race. Rindler was followed by sophomore Darren Gies (Plymouth) who ran a time of 34:54.21 to finish 95th.
Senior Zach Roush (Nashville, Ind./Brown County) placed 99th with a time of 35:37.66. Sophomore John Seeley (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich./Sault Area) and freshman Brandon Zartman (Paulding) placed 102nd and 105th to wrap up the Defiance crew of runners.
Defiance wraps up the 2016 season at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship race in Holland, Mich. on Saturday, Nov. 12.
