Defiance Runs at Oberlin College
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Four Defiance College men's cross country runners participated at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Four Defiance College men's cross country runners participated at the Inter-Regional Rumble hosted by Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio.
The Yellow Jackets competed as individuals and did not qualify in the overall team standigs. The meet was won by Carnegie (Pa.) Mellon University with 75 points, followed by the University of Mount Union with 123 points and Wabash (Ind.) College had 138 points to round out the top-three team finishes.
The Jackets were led by senior Jacob Rindler (St Henry) who finished in the 78th position out of 165 runners, completing the eight-kilometer course in a time of 29:14.5.
Sophomore Darren Gies (Plymouth) followed Rindler, placing 148th with a time of 33:11.7, while senior John Seeley (Sault Ste. Marie, Mich./Sault Area) ran the course in 35:24.1.
Freshman Brandon Zartman (Paulding) rounded out the pack with a time of 36:11.7. Seeley and Zartman finished 157th and 159th, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 as they participate in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. The meet will be hosted by Hanover (Ind.) College with the men's race set to begin at 11:45 a.m.
