Yellow Jackets run in All-Ohio Championships
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Defiance College traveled to DII Cedarville University to participate in the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon.
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Defiance College traveled to DII Cedarville University to participate in the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon.
The meet featured 568 runners from NCAA Division 1 to NAIA schools. 284 DIII runners participated in the race.
The Yellow Jackets saw their best finish from Colin Krick (Hicksville, Ohio / Antwerp Local). Krick finished in 256th place with a 28:05.20. The time also put him in 95th place of all DIII runners.
Clayton Bruggeman (St. Henry, Ohio / St. Henry) finished second for the Yellow Jackets. He crossed the line at the 28:29.91 mark which was good enough for 123rd place in DIII.
Coming in next for DC was freshman Diego Sanchez (Kissimmee, Fla. / Celebration). Sanchez crossed the line at 29:19.49. He finished in 166th place for DIII runners.
Jaymes Cole (Vero Beach, Fla. / Vero Beach) and Jacob Rindler (St. Henry, Ohio / St. Henry) would round out the scoring for the Yellow Jackets. Cole and Rindler finished at 29:37.98 and 29:55.47, respectively.
Also making the trip for DC was Zach Roush (Nashville, Ind. / Brown County). He finished right behind Rindler with a 29:56.36.
Andrew Senecal (North Baltimore, Ohio / North Baltimore) and Sebastian Rue (Defiance, Ohio / Ayersville) also ran for the Yellow Jackets. They finished with times of 30:45.06 and 31:40.79, respectively.
DC finished 17 out of 21 DIII teams with a combined score of 478.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action in two weeks when they travel to Wilmington, Ohio for the Wilmington Invitational. The event is slated for a 4:30 pm start time.
