Men's Cross Country Personal Records Shattered at NCAA Regional
MASON, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s cross country team put together a very strong performance at the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet Saturday morning.

Clayton Bruggeman (St. Henry), Colin Krick (Hicksville/Antwerp Local), Jacob Rindler (St. Henry), Zach Roush (Nashville, Ind./Brown County), and Jaymes Cole (Vero Beach, Fla./Vero Beach) were not only the top five finishers for DC, but they all set new personal records.
With the personals records; not only did Bruggeman, Krick, and Rindler improve their place in DC's All-Time Top-15 fastest individual list, but Roush and Cole placed their name on the list as well.
Bruggeman led the way for the Yellow Jackets with a 150th-place finish in a time of 27:05.5. His time is now the seventh fastest by an individual in DC history. Krick was right behind in both the race and the all-time list. His time of 27:16.0 puts him in eighth all time in DC history and placed him 156th in the race. Coming in third for the Yellow Jackets was Rindler who placed 171st overall in a time of 27:31.2. He now owns the 10th fastest time in DC history. Also coming inside the top 200 was Roush. He finished 199th with a 28:12.6 mark. That time puts him in the 14 spot in DC history. Rounding out the scoring times for the Yellow Jackets was Cole. The freshman ran a 28:19.4 which ranked fifteenth best in DC history and placed him 202nd overall in the region.
Diego Sanchez (Kissimmee, Fla./Celebration) and Andrew Senecal (North Baltimore) also made the trip south to Mason for the Yellow Jackets. The two runners continued the trend of breaking personal records as they two both set new career marks.
Sanchez crossed the line with a 28:28.6 and Senecal was right behind with a 28:34.0. The two finished in 205th and 208th place, respectively.
The Yellow Jackets placed 33rd out of 37 teams with 875 points and the meet featured 244 total runners.
