Perkins Leads Jackets at HCAC Championships
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College men’s cross country team finished sixth at the 2008 HCAC Championships on Saturday, November 1. The Jackets accumulated 178 points in the meet on their way to their best finish in three years.
N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College men's cross country team finished sixth at the 2008 HCAC Championships on Saturday, November 1. The Jackets accumulated 178 points in the meet on their way to their best finish in three years.
Justin Perkins led DC with a 22nd-place finish, crossing the line in 27:33. The Fairview High School product was the fifth freshmen to complete the 8K course, recording Defiance's best overall finish since John McColl's ninth-place effort at the 2004 HCAC Championships. Seth Bidlack was the second Jacket to finish, placing 33rd with a time of 29:13. Aaron Fraley (30:12), Matt Rohlf (30:31) and Justin Lamb (31:09) rounded out the top five for DC.
Defiance will travel to Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, November 15, when it competes in the 2008 NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships.
