Cannon and Markau produce event victories at All-Ohio Championships
DELAWARE, Ohio - Tawon Cannon and Lisa-Maria Markau had big days on the track Saturday afternoon in the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan University. Both Cannon and Markau won events at the meet to headline DC's performance.
The women's team earned 19 points and placed 10th out of 12 teams and the men's team earned 15 points to place 12th out of 12th.
Lisa-Maria Markau was the 400 meter dash champion for the fourth week in a row, winning with a time of 59.16 seconds. Markau also finished strong in the 200 meter dash, placing second. Aliza Clark competed in the 100 hurdles and placed 13th. Shelby Clements shaved off 31 seconds on her 400 meter dash time and placed 13th with a new time of 1:04.64. Myahn Smith had a good day as well, earning new personal bests in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Smith placed 11th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.40 seconds and placed eighth in the 200 meter dash with a new best time of 26.74 seconds.
Tawon Cannon continued his strong outdoor season by winning the 400 hurdles with a new best time of 54.06 seconds. Gavin Maratea placed 26th in the 100 meter dash and Montgomery Rollins earned a fourth place finish in the 400 hurdles with a new personal best of 55.14 seconds.
