Maratea and Markau both set personal bests at Baldwin Wallace Twilight meet

Berea, Ohio - Gavin Maratea and Lisa-Maria Markau both competed at the Baldwin Wallace Harrison Dillard Twilight meet Friday afternoon and both would set personal bests at the meet.

Maratea set new bests in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash and placed 35th in both events. Gavin ran the 100 in 11.56 seconds and the 200 in 23.73 seconds. 

Markau ran in both the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash as well and earned an 11th place finish in the 100 and a 15th place finish in the 200. Lisa-Maria ran the 100 in 11.53 seconds and set a new best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.91 seconds.

The Defiance track and field athletes will now have to wait for the NCAA selection show to see whether they qualify for the DIII Championships.
