Track and Field turns in solid performance at Indiana Tech
Fort Wayne, Ind. - Defiance College track and field made the short trip over to Indiana Tech to compete at the Good Friday Warrior Opener yesterday afternoon (April 7). While no team scores were given, multiple Yellow Jackets recorded personal bests in the meet.
Men:

Ja'Qway Janvier placed 10th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.18 seconds.

Marcus Frye competed in the 100 meter dash for the first time and completed it in 13.07 seconds.

Frye also participated in the javelin throw and threw it 28.30 meters.

Gavin Maratea finished the 200 meter dash in 23.84 seconds, which placed him 32nd. The time was one second over his personal best.

Ron Scott competed in the shot put and discus throw. He recorded a new best in the discus with a throw of 33.22 meters, surpassing his previous best of 31.79m.
Women:

Lisa-Maria Markau recorded a new best in the 100 meter dash, placing 10th with a time of 12.67 seconds.

Hailei Haynes set a personal best in the 100m also with a time of 13.22 seconds.

Markau, Shyla Pemberton, and Shanti Elkins all turned in solid performances in the 200 meter dash. Markau placed eighth, Pemberton 12th, and Elkins 18th. 26.72 seconds is a new personal best for Pemberton.

Brianna Snider and Lexi Coward both ran the 800 meter. Coward completed it in 3:16.39 which is a new best for her as well.

Snider turned in a 19th place finish in the javelin.
