Markau winning an event headlines Track and Field at HCAC Championships
Cincinnati, Ohio - Defiance track and field competed in the HCAC Championships Saturday afternoon at Mount St. Joseph University. Lisa-Maria Markau winning the 400 meter dash headlined the day for the Yellow Jackets. The women placed seventh and the men finished 10th. Markau was also named the Women's Most Outstanding Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Year.

Lisa-Maria Markau won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.50. That was also a new personal best for her.

Shyla Pemberton finished seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.20.

Markau finished second in the 200 meter dash.

The 4x200 meter relay team of Marlon Brown, Isaac Miler, Daniel Budwah, and Gavin Maratea finished fifth with a time of 1:33.96.

Gavin Maratea recorded a time of 56.85 seconds in the 400 meter dash, a new personal best.

Ja'Qway Janvier completed the 60 meter dash in 7.08 seconds, good for a fifth place finish.

Landon Sensmeier set a new personal best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.82 seconds.
