Track and Field hosts Dick Small Invitational

Defiance, Ohio - Defiance College track and field hosted the Dick Small Invitational that took place Thursday (Feb. 9) and Friday (Feb. 10). Multiple Yellow Jackets set new personal bests in the meet.

Notable Performances:

  • Lisa-Maria Markau recorded a new personal best time of 1:02.74 in the 400 meter dash.

  • Shyla Pemberton also recorded a new personal best in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:03.67.

  • Pemberton also recorded a new personal best in the 200 meter dash.

  • Isaac Miler ran the 400 meter for the first time this season and finished with a time of 53.24.

  • Jonathan Wright-Daniel completed the 400m in 54.17, giving him a new personal best.

  • Ja'Qway Janvier, Gavin Maratea, Daniel Budwah, Landon Sensmeier, and Marcus Frye all competed in the 60 meter dash.

  • Maratea, Budwah, and Frye recorded personal bests.

  • Marlon Brown, Maratea, Wright-Daniel, and Sensmeier all recorded personal bests in the 200 meter dash.

Up Next:

  • Track and Field returns to action tomorrow when the Yellow Jackets compete at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Wittenberg University. Action begins at noon tomorrow.
